Senior Business Development Officer, South West College

Barry McCarron is the Senior Business Development Officer for South West College Innotech Centre. A key part of this role includes the responsibility for the award winning certified Passivhaus CREST (Centre for Renewable Energy and Sustainable Technologies) Pavilion at South West College in Northern Ireland. Barry is currently completing a PhD at Queen’s University Belfast investigating the Passivhaus standard's influence on indoor radon concentrations. He has more than fifteen years’ experience in the construction industry, specialising in sustainable construction and renewable energy. Barry is a key part of the team at South West College working towards developing the College into a Regional Centre of Excellence for Passivhaus training with both the Designer and Tradesperson courses. Since becoming a Certified Passivhaus Consultant in 2014 he has been involved in the training of over 120 graduates of the Passivhaus courses.
