Charlie Shanks

I have worked in the construction industry for 15 years within this time I have progressed from an apprentice carpenter to a site manager. Construction runs in the family with my father being a decorator and my grandfather being a plasterer. After I gained my NVQ level 3 I quickly became a Carpentry foreman of a team this consisted of 6 carpenters and successfully handed over 3 projects in a 3 year duration one of which being a retrofit for the future, since then I become a site manager and have successfully handed over 4 projects two of which were a 2 bedroom house and a block of 9 flats both built and certified to Passivhaus standards within a 3 year duration.

In 2016 I was added to the Passivhaus Institute database with a qualification of Approved Tradesperson and I am currently working on my third Passivhaus project consisting of 3 new 4 bedroom houses in Brixton along with another retrofit for the future within the same area which I am currently converting from a 11 room hostel into 6 new luxury flats with view to hit EnerPHit standards.
