Chris Gorse
Director, Leeds Sustainability Institute
Christopher Gorse is a Professor of Construction and Project Management, Director of the Leeds Sustainability Institute and Head of the Centre of the Built Environment at Leeds Beckett University. He is the current Chair of the Association of Researchers in Construction Management (ARCOM), Chair of the International Conference for Sustainable Ecological Engineering Design for Society (SEEDS) and a founding member of the Building Performance Network. Chris started out as an Engineer and Project Manager, with a background in contracting and consultancy. He is a Chartered Building, Environmentalist and Engineering Professors’ Council Member, holding Principal Investigator positions for major construction, environment and energy research projects. He is also sub task leader for International Energy Agency on Energy and Environmental projects.
The teams that Chris leads are multi discipline with expertise in building, building forensics, climate, materials, behaviour, energy, building energy flexibility, data analytics and simulation. The group have amassed more BPE with full scale testing of domestic building than any other public research group in Europe. Chris is an established author, with leading text on sustainability, technology and management.
