Born in Germany in 1967, studied physics with a focus on solar energy and efficient energy use. Member of the scientific staff of the Passivhaus Institut, Darmstadt, Germany, since 1997. Ph.D. on Passive Houses in the mildly warm climates of South West Europe in 2009. Managing director of Passivhaus Institut GmbH since its establishment in 2019.

• Development and application of dynamic hygro-thermal simulation software
• Evaluation of field monitoring data
• Investigations on the applicability of the Passive House approach in different regions and climates
