Mark is the Managing Director of Stewart & Shields Ltd, a third Generation family Construction Company which was formed in the 1950`s. Stewart & Shields Ltd are based in the West of Scotland and carry out construction works all over Scotland including the Islands. Mark feels passionately about his company`s role in helping reduce fuel poverty and addressing the immediate skills shortage in the industry. Education and training of the team is central to Mark`s vision, so as well as having Stewart & Shields core team trained and accredited by the Passive House Institute, he has set up a training academy for the staff. Stewart & Shields has enthusiastically adhered to the rigorous building criteria demanded by Passivhaus standards for a long time, from our early involvement in projects such as A'Chrannag in Rothesay for Fyne Homes, which in 2004 was regarded as one of the most energy efficient buildings in Europe, to current work with Shettleston Housing Association, Nith Valley Leaf Trust and Argyll Community HA & Eildon HA.
