Matthew Hayes

Matt has worked at Architype since 2013. With a specialism of designing within a heritage context, his experience is focused around bespoke family homes and education projects.

After recently completing a number of local Passivhaus family homes, Matt is currently working on a co-working business incubator office development near Oxford.

Matt undertook his Part I studies, combining Architecture and Planning at The University of the West of England, Bristol. During his time at university he worked part-time as an architectural research assistant, studying social interaction in architecture. Matt studied for his Masters at the Manchester School of Architecture, where he also tutored undergraduate students. Matt completed his Post Graduate Diploma in Architectural Practice at Birmingham City University in 2015.

Matt now works with Birmingham City University as a design studio technical tutor with fifth year students.
