Richard Miller has 40 years’ practical experience in innovation and sustainability across multiple industry sectors. He is a Founder Director of consulting company Miller-Klein Associates Ltd, and Associate Director of the Connected Places Catapult. While working with Innovate UK, he developed, secured funding for, and implemented their built environment and urban living programmes. The built environment programme supported innovation in low-impact buildings, both new-build and refurbishing the existing stock. The urban living programme looked at the challenges of cities and urban areas. How do we create urban areas that have a strong economy, great quality of life and are sustainable? In 2018 he was the lead researcher and author on a report Scaling up Retrofit 2050 published by the IET and Nottingham Trent University and is now working with the Connected Places Catapult and other partners to develop a national retrofit programme.
