Alex is an architect with a passion for integrating the disciplines of architecture, engineering and building physics. To this end he completed UCL’s interdisciplinary Masters in Environmental Design and Engineering where he wrote a dissertation on the economics of BREEAM, going on to qualify as a BREEAM Accredited Professional. He is based in Cambridge where he chaired RH Partnership Architects’ Sustainability Group, and was project architect for a number of significant buildings devoted to scientific research. He has recently joined the University of Cambridge Estate Management team as their Sustainable Buildings Advisor where he reviews design development; evaluates performance in use; and is helping to develop strategies for delivery of the University’s targets for carbon reduction.
