David spent 20 years in manufacturing within the automotive and construction materials sectors before moving into construction. He was central in the creation and growth of Willmott Dixon Energy Services which focused on domestic low energy retrofit low energy new build projects before establishing Melius Homes.
Set up to deliver ultra-low energy assured performance ‘Energiesprong’ domestic retrofits and assured performance new build homes, Melius Homes is currently delivering the UK’s first 10 Energiesprong retrofit pilots and roll out programme of up to 400 dwellings for Nottingham City Homes.
Previously, he set up the Zero Carbon Hub and, as a Director, chaired various multi-stakeholder task groups reporting to the several Housing Ministers on the zero carbon new build homes policy development.
He is a board member of EnergiesprongUK, is chair of the Advisory Board for the London-Loughborough Centre for Doctoral Research in Energy Demand, a Director of Sustainable Homes, and one of the founders of the Building Performance Network.
