Member for Housing and Safer Neighbourhoods, York City Council
Denise Craghill is a Green Party councillor who has represented York's city centre Guildhall ward since 2015. Re-elected in May 2019, she then became Executive Member for Housing and Safer Neighbourhoods as part of the Green-Lib Dem partnership which is currently running the Council. In March 2019 she drafted the council's Climate Emergency motion. Proposed by the Green Group and passed almost unanimously, the motion commits the Council to a target of reducing carbon emissions in the city to net zero by 2030 and now forms a key part of the Green-Lib Dem partnership. Denise's background has included working for local government, fundraising and campaigning on sustainability issues.
